I enjoy living in the “Queen City”, Charlotte, NC with my husband and two children. As ababy boomer with spirit and positive energy I have found great joy helping others cope with life changes and find self-direction. I spent over 25 years as a helping professional in counseling, consulting and teaching. As a higher education professor in educational psychology and human development I have enjoyed teaching and advising students of all ages. From my varied work experiences I learned much about what individuals at different life stages feel, think, need and hope for in their lives. I have discovered that our lives bring unexpected challenges and that support, and sometimes professional assistance can help us navigate through difficult times.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Personal Life Coach and a Distance Credentialed Counselor, providing counseling and coaching services. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Winthrop University with a doctorate in Educational Psychology. My background in career development, developmental psychology and personal counseling gives me the knowledge and the skills to help my clients manage personal and professional challenges. I have particular expertise working with people in helping professions including women with families, teachers, educators and counselors who desire change. I also enjoy working with undergraduate and graduate college students who are struggling with staying on track with their academic goals.
I have a wonderful family who keeps me on my toes and makes me happy. As a family we struggle with many of the issues other modern families in our culture face. Financial stress over potential job loss, parenting an adolescent in the midst of identity angst and helping an aging parent with retirement have challenged us this year. Keeping a family of four in balance is not easy but we try our best, and the rewards are rich and meaningful.
I have passions. I love anything Italian, I find traveling to new places invigorating, and I love the cool mountain air. I could spend several days a week in an art museum. And PBS mysteries captivate me! Finally, I am passionate about the people in my life who provide me with interpersonal strength, insight and caring, the juice that keeps me growing, learning and laughing. There is more to share.
